Does the two witness rule still stand on minor sins?
by Homer notsimpson inits been pointed out to me that two eye witnesses are always needed for elders to form a judicial case.
the sister could have sex with a brother.
she confesses and he denies, he gets off free, sure.

A JW mock trial needs
- Two witnesses to the same event
- OR two witnesses to separate events of the same 'sin' (e.g. 2 JW both saw him smoking but at different occasions, or 2 victims that claim he touched their underage genitals, etc.)
- OR a confession from the sinner to 2 elders*
- OR two witnesses that personally heard a confession from the 'sinner' (e.g. he told his two best friends he shagged his GF, doesn't confess to elders himself, but his treacherous friends do tell on him)
Note that this information gathering is done before a JC is even started. A JC is only started when it's clear the 'sin' has been commited. During the JC they'll only verify the details of the case in order to verify how bad the perpetrator is and thus how many time he has to say a hail-Mary...erm I mean how long he'll be put on restrictions. Only in rare cases can an accused (who didn't confess) show the JC he actually didn't do whatever he's accused of. And in that case he might still be reproved for contempt of authority.
---
*) These elders will preferably then not be part of the JC, but will function as witnesses to the prosecution, just as the witnesses in point 4

Wish me all the best
by LevelThePlayingField inso i called in to my local walgreens pharmacy to get my blood pressure medicine refilled.
i go to the pharmacy to pick it up and they tell me that the doctor has denied filling it saying to them, "prescription refill not appropriate".
i asked them what that means and they say you'll have to contact your doctor on that, sorry.

@LTPF,
Kudos to you for calling for help and at the same time encouraging and helping others!
There is no shame in asking and accepting help. On the contrary, it takes strength to acknowledge that we're not capable of doing everything by ourselves.
Good luck and much strenght to you!

THIS Is How Muslim Mother “Fixes” Rape Of 2-Year-Old Granddaughter By Grandfather
by Hecce insaw this dated 2/26/2017, seems to be from 12/2015.. .
even in a religious culture that advocates the murder of victims as honorable, fathers and brothers are typically the perpetrators of horrific violence against female family members whose only crime was to be the victim of another, the killing of a child by its mother stands out as particularly unnatural and depraved.such a heinous act occurred recently in sohag, egypt when a mother of a two-year-old child took the life of her child rather than protect it from violent sexual assault by its own grandfather.. a muslim mother identified only as “merfat” was awakened by screams in the middle of the night and found her father, faraj, in the act of raping her daughter.. .
rather than acting out of a natural, protective instinct, the 23-year-old mother chose to shield her father from scandal as taught by muslim theology and sharia law.. merfat told authorities that she took her daughter, little grace ahmed, from the grandfather, placed her in a tub and held her head under water until the child drown.. alik akhmim, chief detective of the police in sohag told egyptian reporters that “traces of blood” had been found in the little girl’s anus, evidencing the degree of force and injury the child endured at the hands of her mother’s father.. this kind of act is referred to as an “honor killing” thought to place the reputation of the family above that of any individual member, and which is used to punish the victim rather than hold the perpetrator accountable.. murdering rape victims is common in countries and communities that adhere to sharia law where the crime is rarely reported for fear of exposing the family to shame.. “honor killing” is no longer limited to predominantly muslim countries or the middle east.

I have an almost 2 year old daughter. If I woke up to her screams like that, whoever hurt her wouldn't live to tell. Or would live just enough to suffer.

@ToesUp,
Yes, and just a few weeks ago a BOE letter instructed elders to visit all 'inactive ones' to invite them to the memorial and 'convey the GB's love' (what about Jhvh or Jesus?).
Strange indeed!

What they actually mean to say:
Legally we don't want to appear chasing, stalking, harassing and pressuring former members. That may be used against us in lawsuits re. child abuse.
Therefore we change the directive from a centrally organized effort to stalk ex members into something we can deny involvement in: each elder is now personally responsible to do the stalking.
If anyone asks, it wasn't our idea, we are not responsible for your actions, and you have never been a member of nor answering to Watchtower. Yes, we'll hang you out to dry.

Best statement a householder made to get you to leave them alone.

Ooh and another guy we all hated so much! This guy would be really interested, talking for an hour or longer at a time. Sometimes lightly disagreeing and discussing, sometimes going along with the JW bullshit. And when the chat ended he would say: You have to know I don't give a sh*t about your beliefs. But now you have spent a useless hour at my door instead of talking to a dozen others, who might fall for your nonsense.
Boy did we avoid his house like the plague!

I remember talking to Jesus. Both of them.
The first was an RV from an elder brother. The two of us sometimes visited a guy who suffered schizophrenia and at times he thought he was Jesus. At least he knew he was 'crazy'.
In my early twenties a guy opened his door and said dead serious: Hi. I'm Jesus. No, he was not from a Spanish speaking background. The guy looked a bit odd, and there was no way to tell whether he was having an identity crisis of sorts, or that he was messing with me. Either way I couldn't think of anything left to say right then and there. Just said bye and left.
